Are you ready to take the next step in your Bowen career?

IF THE answer to this question is yes, please get in touch with our office to find out more about the role of Bowen Teaching Assistant Candidate (TAC).

This role is open to experienced therapists qualified in the Original Bowen Technique (sometimes referred to as Bowtech) with an ability to build good relationships and wishing to share their knowledge with others. Inter-personal skills are as important as professional expertise.

The purpose of this role, a stepping stone to possibly qualifying as an instructor, is to introduce Bowen to people who may be considering training as a Bowen therapist. The TAC recruits interested people to attend a one-day session, for which a nominal fee is charged. Successful TAC applicants will work initially under the guidance of an instructor.

Using a comprehensive Workbook, the session covers the history and origins of the Bowen Technique, what it is and how it works, including an explanation of its unique ‘pause’ feature, and a demonstration of simple Bowen moves. An attendance certificate is presented although this does not qualify or allow anyone to offer Bowen treatments.

The cost of the introductory day will be deducted from the first two beginners’ modules for anyone who decides to embark on a full training course.

Instructor Nickatie Morgan is working with therapist Sarah Baglin who has just taken up the TAC role. She told us: “Many of our instructors also offer an Introduction to Bowen Technique workshop from time to time. Having a TAC with whom to collaborate helps us reach more people and spread the word about the benefits of Bowen Therapy.”

Editor’s note: Nickatie is BTUK secretary. To find out more about the Teaching Assistant Candidate role please email her at bowentrainingukoffice@gmail.com
