BOWEN therapists here in the UK and around the world are being urged to help promote the film These Two Hands to reach a wider public audience.
Launched in 2022, this multi award-winning docudrama traces the story of Tom Bowen, the pioneering, visionary founder of the Original Bowen Technique, sometimes referred to as Bowtech.
The film blends personal interviews with therapists, health experts and people who have experienced relief from treatment, with the compelling narrative of Tom’s extraordinary life and legacy. We are proud that two of our own instructors, John Wilks and Helen Perkins, were chosen to feature in early trailers when the makers of the film were trying to attract funding.
Many of you reading this article will be familiar with the film, shown at the Bowen Global Summit 2025 hosted by the Natural Therapy Institute. The aim now is to distribute the film to a global audience in partnership with independent distributor FilmHub which has direct access to many reputable (and free) streaming platforms such as Amazon.
To qualify for FilmHub distribution, the film needs more ratings on IMDb (internet movie database), the world’s biggest source of television and film. The process is spearheaded by the Natural Therapy Institute, which is urging Bowen practitioners around the world to play their part.
They sent us this step-by-step guide:
Sean Dobra, who was the driving force behind the film, told us: “Having the film available globally on established streaming platforms will help build awareness, credibility and recognition for Bowen Therapy supporting our shared vision of bringing it into the mainstream of complementary therapies.”
