Helen is a gifted complementary therapist and award-winning trainer whose reputation as an ‘intuitive and supportive’ teacher attracts students from all over the UK and overseas.
A devotee of Bowen since she discovered its benefits while living in Australia, she loves teaching and feels privileged to be able to inspire the next generation of Bowen therapists. In addition to teaching the Bowen Technique, she also teaches her own method of sound and intuition reflexology known as the Reflex Resonance Technique™.
A Bowen practitioner since 1994, after training with Ossie and Elaine Rentsch at the prestigious Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, she qualified as an instructor in 2013. She has been recognised as Best Bowen Therapy Training Provider in the UK by lifestyle magazine LUX International.
Since 2008 Helen has been exclusive distributor for Bowen Supplies, contemporary products that evolved from founder Tom Bowen’s home remedies.
In addition to teaching the original Bowen Technique, Helen has developed her own accredited CPD training course for Bowen therapists wishing to work in the field of palliative care. This came after many years’ experience within the hospice movement where she drew-up the necessary protocols, a highly-regarded course subsequently adapted for use in at least one NHS hospital.
Helen runs a thriving clinical practice combined with her work as trainer, speaker and consultant requiring strong communication and business skills that add real value to her students. On successful completion of formal training, students are invited for 1:1 appraisal with Helen to increase their confidence and reinforce learning in a clinical environment.
Her classes are said to be relaxed, supportive and fun. Smaller groups allow for a high-level of hands-on supervision and students have an opportunity to work on ‘guest’ clients as well as each other.
Helen is an NVQ Level 3 tutor for adult further education and holds a City and Guilds Vocational Assessor Award. These qualifications mean she is well-able to identify and adapt to different learning needs while maintaining focus for the whole class. She is media-savvy and has published numerous articles.
Her Peterborough venue offers free parking and a list of homely recommended B&B accommodation. After the first day, the evening is reserved for an informal restaurant supper for those who wish to join in. The London venue is in Highgate which is in a friendly community centre with cafe. Long-lasting friendships are formed and reunions with Helen are common.
Enjoyed meeting Helen and other partisipants on the coure, sharing time, stories and experiences. Learning new moves.

thank you both for sharing your knowledge, guidance and encouragement this weekend. I found the course so interesting and definitely feel more confident in the BSP1 procedures - thank you for your time and patience.
I enjoyed the practical work to develop the technique and learn the procedures.
Helen is a very professional instructor and was always helpful with advice when needed. I would not hesitate to recommend her to others who are looking to train as Bowen therapists
Lucy Mclennan, Stamford
‘After completing Modules 1-7, I feel ready to go it alone knowing I have the continued support of my fantastic tutor, Helen, and Bowen Training UK. I took up Helen’s offer of a 1:1 day of clinical supervision working in her practice to gain some confidence and check my own technique… I certainly wasn’t disappointed, giving treatments to clients, listening-in to consultations and observing Helen’s interaction with clients at different stages of treatment. Helen is a fount of knowledge not only for Bowen but also business ideas to help me get my own business off the ground. I came away really inspired. The whole experience has been second to none… truly motivational.’
‘This palliative care workshop was exactly what I wanted and expected in terms of building my confidence – in fact it exceeded my expectations.’
Judith Kilgallon, Lytham
‘This was the best course I have ever attended and worth every penny. Helen is one in a million, an excellent trainer whose advice helps me every day in my hospice work.’
Sarena Baxter, London
‘Thank you for a great two days. I really enjoyed this module and the opportunity to brush-up on procedures to keep up my annual CPD commitments. The group was lovely and so welcoming; thank you for giving me so much of your time.’
Gail Kharegat, Oxford
I have thoroughly enjoyed learning the Bowen technique and Helen has been an excellent and very supportive trainer. It has at times been very challenging to fit it all in with my very busy clinic schedule but know I will use Bowen more and more in my daily working life.
