Nicola Hok

BTAA, BT(UK)

Nicola is an award-winning Bowen instructor, among the first to study the technique in 1993. Qualifying as an instructor in 1997 and a senior instructor since 2001, Nicola has a highly practical approach to teaching Bowen.

Her mantra is ‘practice, practice, practice’ and her mission is ‘to produce the best practitioners on the planet’. Her teaching is thorough – perfectionist even – because she feels the most vital thing is to give students a really, solid basis upon which to build. “Bowen is a study in precision,” she says. “The more precise you are in where and how you make the moves, the better the results. No matter how caring a practitioner you are, if your work is not precise it will be less effective.”

An avid traveller, Nicola has worked around the world both as a Bowtech Therapist and instructor teaching in Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and South Africa.

With a life-long interest in complementary medicine Nicola uses Bowtech in preference to her other disciplines because: “It’s so effective and gentle; often a couple of sessions with Bowen might resolve the problem. I love that it still excites and surprises me sometimes, too – that is rare when you’ve been doing it for 30+ years!”
