BOWEN TRAINING UK

Constitution

BTUK is an unincorporated body who reports directly to the Directors of Bowen Training UK Ltd.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To operate as a training organisation providing education and training in the Bowen Technique (Bowtech).
  2. To uphold the integrity of Bowtech Bowen as established by Ossie and Elaine Rentsch and the legacy of Tom Bowen.
  3. To support students through basic and advanced Bowen courses in a positive and supportive atmosphere.

AIMS

  1. To conduct the affairs in a Professional diligent and transparent manner.
  2. Treat instructors and students alike upholding high standards by being honest, courteous, approachable, and delivering what is promised.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the organisation is open to all without discrimination. Members must hold an instructor’s certificate and pay the annual Licence fee to the Bowtech Bowen Association of Australia.

TRAINING COMMITTEE

The training committee meet as and when required with a minimum of 4 meetings per year. All committee members are entitled to a copy of the minutes. The committee will decide what information the Chairperson will be responsible for sharing with the members and The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia.

Members of the training committee are elected by a simple majority of the members present and voting at the annual general meeting of BTUK. There is no minimum or maximum number of persons who may sit on the training committee.

The committee shall have the power to co-opt members to serve on the committee. Members wishing to be considered for co-option to the Committee of BTUK should put their name forward to the Chairman of the Committee. Such members are only co-opted until the next AGM where they must stand for election to continue as a committee member.

Decisions of the training committee meetings are made by a simple majority of all votes cast.

In the event of a tie the chairperson shall have the casting vote.

Minutes must be kept of decisions of the training committee meeting and passed to the directors of Bowen Training UK Ltd for adoption and approval.

CHAIRPERSON

Responsibilities include:

  • Organising and chairing all meetings of the training committee and general meetings of the members.
  • Guiding the committee to work to the benefit and progress of BTUK.

GENERAL MEETINGS

The organisation will hold an annual general meeting of the members normally in the first quarter of the year.

An extraordinary general meeting of the organisation may be called by the training committee at any time as required.

The committee must give four weeks’ notice in writing to all members of any General Meeting and include the proposed agenda.

The agenda shall be determined by the training committee.

Election of the chairperson and committee members shall take place at the annual general meeting of the members. Election shall be by simple majority of the votes cast.

Minutes must be kept of decisions of any general meeting and passed to the directors of Bowen Training UK Ltd for adoption.

REMOVAL OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Any committee member may be removed by a two thirds majority of those present and voting at the general meeting.

RESTRICTIONS

Instructors cannot form a similar organisation whilst being an instructor for Bowen Training UK.

As Bowen Training UK is under the auspices of Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia any changes regarding course structure, levies and training of new instructors must be approved by BTAA.

FEES

The committee are responsible for setting the fees payable to Bowen Training UK Ltd and The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia for levies to teach The Bowen Technique (Bowtech). Such fees must be approved by the board of Bowen Training UK Ltd.

AMMENDMENT OF RULES

The rules of Bowen Training UK may be amended by a simple majority of members present and voting at an Extraordinary General Meeting of BTUK.
