After an early career as a registered general nurse, during which she undertook post-graduate qualifications in neuro-medical and neurosurgical nursing, Jan became more aware of the potential health benefits of complementary medicine.
“I felt the medical system only treats the symptoms, and became interested in complementary health as a way of helping people in a more holistic way,” she said.
She gave up nursing after Bowen provided welcome relief from a recurring kidney complaint and qualified as a therapist in 1999. She began teaching in 2005, with the aim of bringing this ‘wonderful technique’ to others.
“I love teaching and appreciate the feedback to my ‘relaxed and enjoyable’ classes. “I am always on hand to help both in the classroom and in between modules to ensure all students feel supported and well informed, to become the best therapist they can be,” she added.
