There may be few opportunities in your lifetime to become part of something genuinely fullfulling. For some people, learning the Bowen Technique has become that Opportunity. Ossie Rentsch co-founder of the Bowen Technique Academy of Australia

Lesley Baxter spent over 20 years working as an editor before a long-standing interest in complementary therapies led her to train in Reflexology, Reiki and Indian Head Massage.

She discovered the Bowen Technique when looking for treatment for her own unresolved neck and shoulder problem. Impressed and intrigued by the success of Bowen where other therapies had failed, she resolved learn the technique:  “After the initial relief at being in no pain, I was simply amazed that such a gentle therapy could be so effective.” She qualified as a Bowen practitioner in 2007, trained by Trevor Griffiths and Jacqui Hoitingh.

Lesley was subsequently invited to become an instructor and it felt like a natural progression: “I have enormous respect for Bowen’s simplicity, its gentleness and the results that can be achieved. By teaching, I want to share what I have learned and help to give Bowen the wider recognition it deserves.”

Lesley takes a friendly, practical approach in her Modular courses. Her aim is to create a supportive, relaxed atmosphere and give a thorough, precise grounding in the technique so that students will feel confident as practitioners and have the same passion about the Bowen Technique that she has herself.

Lesley lives and works near Edinburgh and teaches the Modular course in Sheffield. If you would like to join one of her courses, please feel free to contact her for more information.
